#2 Win of 2023 Lake St. Clair

Well what can I say guys and gals this has been an incredible year so far to say the least. It is almost like a dream within a dream. Bass fisherman that follow professional bass fishing will know exactly what I am about to talk about. Not only the fans that follow, but the hundreds of guys that fish the Bassmaster opens, Bassmaster college series, team series, BASS nation, etc. Each lay their head down at night and dream of winning a Bassmaster Elite series tournament. Why, you ask? Well, yes you get the recognition of winning and all that, the money is good, potential sponsor dollars can change for the better, but, you get the feeling of accomplishment. This feeling of respect from your peers. This feeling of I can do this. I am good enough. You finally fulfilled that dream you had when you laid your head dow on your pillow at night. I’ve had that dream ever since I started competing in fishing tournaments and now I have not only one win but two. I want everyone to know that I am very thankful for what I have accomplished. I know how hard it is to get that big win. I’ve been so close several times and couldn’t get it done. So these two wins means so much to me. The fact is you have to have these wins to make an actual comfortable career out of bass fishing. I guess you do not technically have to win, but you need to be knocking on the door quite often because the best money you can make is in the top 10. If you do that you will be recognized and you’re probably going to win some angler of year titles and those are huge! Not only huge but the winnings for AOY is real nice! Anyways, Ive worked hard to get to where I am at. I started at the bottom and worked my way up to where I am today and I want people to know that it wasn’t just me. I have had the best mentors and friends along the way to help me achieve those goals. I don’t think anyone who is successful in any profession can actual say they did it on their own. They had some kind of help from friends or mentors. When I say help that could be by, money, influence, skills, training, emotional support, etc. Bass fishing in particular is a very expensive sport so yes I had times when money was scarce and I had some people on my side that helped me get through without a doubt. I know numerous guys that are really big names in the sport that have had this same kind of help. It is just the nature of the beast. But that is really a small part of achieving your goal. I think more importantly is the people you surround yourself with. Positive influences. People that no matter what will be there supporting you through the thick and thin and pushing you to get better. I know this for a fact guys and gals. There was a point in my life where I was not trying to surround myself with those people and it really showed. I was going down the wrong road. I really regret that. I wish I would have seen that sooner in my life like when I was in college and during my baseball career. Don’t get me wrong I had some awesome friends and we did push each other and they were great friends and there are many I am still friends with today but we were more focused on worldly pleasures and us and not on truly setting goals and achieving them. Hey we were young and dumb and some of us just have to go through those things in life and learn the hard way. Thats me I have always been that way, having to learn the hard way. But, thats why Im telling you this. If your a young man or woman reading this, now you know. I want to help people become successful and real quick I am going to give you the keys to my success and many others. #1 God is real. Yes he is. You cant sit here and tell me we are all here because of a big bang or by chance. Well I guess technically you can but I wont believe you. Because that doesn’t give you any hope! Jesus gives you hope and peace and if you put him first in your life he will change you! From the moment I was saved and baptized God/Holy spirit began working in my life. So many doors have opened and Im here right now, typing on this computer for a reason. Do you see that confidence in me? I have it through him. Do you see how you will be more positive and at peace with the things that this world will throw at you? Very very very important, thats why he is #1. OK, #2!! If you truly, truly make the #1 key #1 in your life and follow his path he lays out for you, and you truly put your trust in him and his teachings and do your very best to strive to be like Christ, you don’t need any other Keys. Jesus is the key. None of us are perfect we are humans. We are not good we are evil in our nature. That is why we need him and that is why God sent his only son down to earth to die for our sins. So we can have forgiveness, peace, assurance, someone to talk to and who loves us. God is love. We need more love in this world. Thank you for reading my blog.
