MID SEASON REPORT !
Well here we are its already the end of June and we have already finished most of the Elite Season for 2023! Cant believe how time flies away….I have had an exceptional season so far to say the least. Currently I am in 15th place in the AOY points, 2nd in ROY points (rookie of the year), and we have 3 tournaments left. I am very excited to start this northern swing in our schedule, that is our latter season tournaments that go north because the weather is phenomenal and the smallmouth are LARGE! I LOVE catching smallmouth. So that being said, I am feeling good about the rest of the season. #1 goal is to stay in the top 40 in the points to qualify for the BASSMASTER CLASSIC!!!!!!!! TIP: If you want to achieve your goals, write them down!!! Look at them everyday to remind yourself of that goal. If I can string together 3 more good tournaments I will achieve this goal. Next stop is Lake St. Claire near Detroit, Michigan, then Lake Champlain in Plattsburgh, NY, and to finish out the season is the St. Lawrence River in Clayton, NY. All of these fisheries are incredible smallmouth fisheries. I tell everyone that lives in the south that if you have not had a chance to go up north and fish for giant smallmouth, you have to go at least once. There is nothing like catching 4 to 6 pound smallmouth in the gin clear waters of the great lakes north. I have caught all kinds of fish in saltwater and trust me I love them but, it is an experience like none other. Spinning rod set ups, light line, set the hook, drag screams, and the giant smallmouth jumps like 4 feet out of the water like a Shamu show at Sea World. Oh my goodness it is wild!!! Im am getting excited writing this not gonna lie…. So we have to stay hooked up and focused and get this thing done! Just fishing in the Bassmaster Classic is a dream that many fisherman will never get to experience. I have been to several classics, (working not fishing) and it is amazing at the number of fans that show up and attend this amazing tournament. Now, I have to say on my list of goals I have wrote down is winning the Bassmaster Classic :) Remember the tip I gave a little bit ago……Oh yea its gonna happen!
